No, it's not necessary. Many of the tests Qura offers are not reimbursed by Italy's National Health Service (SSN). That is because the system follows a principle of prescribing appropriateness: certain tests may only be requested by a doctor when there are specific symptoms or particular exemptions.
Yes. We have a network of partner labs across the UK, Scotland and Ireland. You do your blood draw at the nearest lab, the results go directly to your Qura doctor, and the consultation happens online in Italian. You don’t need to go back to Italy for any step of the journey.
No — and that's not our goal. Qura is a preventive medicine programme: your Qura doctor helps you understand how you’re doing, builds a protocol on your data, and follows you over time. For acute clinical emergencies (an infection, an injury, anything requiring a physical visit) the NHS or a private clinic remains your reference. What Qura gives you is the continuity that GPs, especially in London, struggle to provide: a doctor who knows you, speaks your language, and is there throughout the year.
No. Your relationship with your Qura doctor is an online medical consultation in Italian, based on your test results and clinical profile. It does not replace your local GP (in the UK or Ireland), but works alongside them: a trusted doctor who follows you over time, wherever you are.
